Friendly Fido Cake
(Using the Animal Crackers Pan, one of many animal faces that can be made)
Icing Colors
Black, Christmas Red, Red-Red, Golden Yellow
Ready-to-Use Rolled Fondant - WHITE
(24 oz. needed)
(Other colors are available)

Your favorite Buttercream Icing Recipe or Canned frosting from your grocery store
Decorating Tips 1A, 3, 4, 12, 18
Using a round cake board or cut a circle from cardboard, allowing space for the dog's ears and at the bottom allowing space for the dog collar.
Wrap in foil.
Using the White Ready-to-Use Fondant, roll out 1/4 inch and cut out two ovals (for pupils of the eyes) Color 16 ounces of the White Fonant black (using gloves works best), roll and cut out ears. Shape a log to form bottom of the ears and attach with water.
Trim tongue area off cake.
Outline muzzle and extended mouth Decorating tip 4.
pipe nose and mouth with Tip 4 (pat smooth with finger dipped in corn starch).
Add Tip 4 bead tongue (pat smooth finger dipped in corn starch).
Pipe in Tip 12 eyes and tip 4 pupils (pat each smooth with finger dipped in corn starch).
Cover face with tip 18 stars (do the spots first).
Add tip 3 dots on snout.
Tint 4 oz. white fondant to Red-Red/Christmas Red (use gloves to knead in the color).
Roll a 3/4 inch diameter x 7 inches long log for collar.
Trim ends on an angle.
Tint 1-1/2 ounce White Fondant grey and cut tag with large end of tip 1A, cut a 2 inch x 1/4 inche strip to the link.
Tint remaining White Fondant yellow and cut dot trim for the collar with narrow end of tip 12.
Attach tag, link and trims to collar (using a little water).
Position ears and collar against the cake (not on it).
