There are little people, wee folk, good people, people of peace...

and then there is...
the adorable mischievous Tinker Bell!

FAIRY CLUB

Create a sign on the party entrance door annoucing to all the guests that they are entering Tinker Bell's Fairy Club and will all learn how to be fairies, complete with a graduation ceremony and Fairy Diploma. As each girl enters, the Fairy Godmother tickles each girl on her hand with a feather, a magical feather, of course. That is the secret code to entering the Fairy Club.

FAIRY GODMOTHER
The birthday girl's mom or grandmother make great Fairy Godmothers to teach the mini classes (party games). Dad or Grandpa can be a Fairy Godfather, too.

FAIRY NAMES
Fairies are named for seasons in this Fairy Club. Prior to the party, write the names of flowers on separate slips of paper and ask each child to draw one. Pin the 'name badge' onto each child's dress or shirt and throughout the party, everyone will be known as the name shown on their name badge. Name ideas include Daisy, Summer, Rose, Mum, Autumn, etc. A Godmother name could be Lady Hollyhock while a Godfather can be named Bachelor Button.

FAIRY CLASSES

* How to Blow a Fairy Kiss
The Godmother demonstrates the kiss used by Fairies in the rain so that no one notices them. Purse the lips together (pucker) and gently place the inside tips of your fingers of one hand to the lips. Then quickly blow the kiss from the fingers and outstretch the arm. That's all there is to it! The catch: As the girls blow the kiss away and outstretch their arms, they must run and catch the kiss, dancing in circles until their is laughter. Whenever a girl laughs, she is out of the circling dancing fairies. The last girl to not laugh is the winner. This takes practice and the girls love dancing and cavorting around, perhaps an outdoor activity.

* How to Wave in a Fairy Parade
This is simple. The Godmother teaches the parade laugh and the various techniques girls use in parades to wave at their audience. Show several examples and have the girls practice, then select the parade wave the like best. Form a line of girls, with the Birthday Girl as the leader, to march in and out of rooms, outside, around trees, back inside, around furniture to the place where the parade ends. The catch: The girls must hum, turn circles, do cartwheels, etc. smiling the entire time. As a girl stops smiling, she is out of the parade after it makes it first entire march. Last one smiling is the winner.

*How to Use a Fairy Wand
A Fairy Wand is very little except for the very famous fairies, like Tinker Bell. Prior to the party, purchase pastel colored straws, perhaps from a discount store, and write the name of each girl on the straw. Provide glue , glitter, colored marking pens, etc. and the girls can personalize their very own special magical wand. The girls are shown various wand waves, such as bowing from the waist and pointing the wand away from her feet or standing straight and waving the wand above her head from side to side. The catch: The girls have to giggle the words "tee hee" over and over and over again, quietly, then a little louder, then a little louder until the Godmother says it is loud enough, then say "tee hee" a little softer, a little softer until the girls are just mouthing the words but can't be heard. Actually there is no catch, tee hee.

*How to Sprinkle Fairy Dust
Sprinkling Fairy Dust requires concentration. Fairies do not just toss Fairy Dust in the air but create a vision in their head of what the Fairy Dust is going to do that is positive. Fairy Dust is never used for awful ideas, never, never, ever! Provide each girl with a bottle and Fairy Dust (visit a store like The BodyWorks found in malls across the USA to get ideas) and let the girls fill their bottle and decorate the outside of the bottle with stickers, colored pens, glitter, etc. The catch: There really isn't one unless you can complicate the situation, tee hee.... each girl sprinkles a little dust in her hand, closes her eyes real tight, and with an outstretched arm, scatters the dust from side to side above her head. Each girl takes an individual turn in front of all the rest and tells what her "wish" is before she sprinkles the Fairy Dust. Everyone's eyes must be closed because if Fairy Dust gets into them, it not only hurts but the magic is gone forever!

* How to Fly with Fairy Wings
Providing each girl with wings is great but not all budgets can afford to do this. If you can make or purchase one set of wings, the Birthday Girl should wear them until this activity when she lends her Fairy Wings to her friends to learn how to fly. The catch: The Godmother hands a piece of paper with the name of the strategy each girl is to perform (like Charades). Ideas include the Bend and Snap (remember Legally Blond movie?), Zeroing in on Pirates, Checking Under the Bed for Monsters, etc. Each guest performs her Wing Technique until the others guess it. Dividing girls into two teams is usually a good idea or keep score if individuals are guessing.

FAIRY ACTIVITIES Ideas

Fairy Hair Braiding
Godmothers or other adults can braid the girl's hair or the girl's can braid each others hair.

Fairy Wishing Rocks
Girls paint flat-surfaced rocks to be their own special Fairy Rock.

Fairy Sparkle Up
Paint fingernails and toenails, add Fairy Sparkle Dust (glitter) while the polish is still wet. After sprinklng the glitter, ask each girl to shake her nails over a bowl or plate so there is no mess when they walk away.

Fairy Face Painting
Create temporary painted fairies on the hands or cheeks of each girl to resemble their "fairy name". (please, remember to get the parents to approve prior to the party)

Fairy Shoes
If lucky enough to find miniature ceramic shoes and the party budget can afford it, we think it would soooo fun to give a pair to each guest to decorate at an activity table that container glitter, sequins, fake jewels, paint, etc. Could not resist this photo.... was sent to me but didn't give a link, darn it.

FAIRY KITCHEN

Fairy Bread

I learned about Fairy Bread when I belonged to a Cooking Group oh so many years ago and several members were from Australia. I'd not heard of it before that time but have since learned there is a great debate over how Fairy Breads are made, depending on the country. There are French Fairy Breads, Italian Fairy Breads, British Fairy Breads, etc., each made differently. The Fairy Godmother has told me that my friends from Australia has the simplest easy-to-make that kids can decorate their own as a party activity! The Australian version uses Nuttella Spread.

Fairies Fried Oreo Cookies

Invitations
Either use Tinker Bell pre-printed invitations or cut out fairy wing shapes out of parchment or onion skin paper (stationary store or Michaels). Handwrite invitations or run them through a computer to pre-print them.

Fairy Party Favors
We have the very cutest purple-colored Fairy-shaped mini soaps that are inexpensive, usable as take-home party gifts and matches the theme perfectly. Any fairy related items are great party favors, too... check out your local Dollar Store. For example, small sample bottles of lotion can be re-labeled as Fairy Lotion.

Fairy Parade
The birthday girl leads the parade because she is being honored at the Fairy Graduation Ceremony.

Fairy Club Membership Cards
Prior to the party, hand-create or use computer to print out cards that identify each guest as a real fairy and a member of the Fairy Club.

Fairy Club Diploma at Graduation Ceremony
Each girl is presented with a diploma declaring her a Fairy by the Fairy Godmother and Fairy Birthday Girl. Individually called to stand, the girl is presented with a rolled up diploma tied with pink and purple ribbons.!

Sample wording to
use on the diploma:

OTHER IDEAS

Fairy Costumes
If the party budget allows, make or purchase inexpensive ballet tutus for each guest, fairy wings, magic wand, etc. Place all the costume items in a cellophane bag or in baskets, asking the girls to dress up as fairies at the beginning of the party. This is great for the Graduation Ceremony Parade (see above).
