Water Balloon Toss
Kids toss water-filled balloons to each other over increasing distances without breaking the balloons. Have pairs of kids face each other in a line and give one child in each paid a filled balloon. On the starting whistle, the child must toss the balloon to his or her partner. If their partner catches the balloon without breaking it, both children take one step backward. On the next whistle, the child who caught balloon tosses it to his or her partner. Again, if the balloon is caught, both children one step backwards. This balloon toss continues until a balloon "breaks" and then those children are elminated from the game. The pair that tosses their balloon the farthest distance wins. (Balloons that are dropped but do not break: children do not step backwards but throw again from where they were.)
