Pilgrim Hat Marshmallow Treats
Pilgrim Hat Cookies
Pilgrim Hat Marshmallow Treats
Ingredients:
Large Marshmallows (1 for each hat)
Striped Cookies (1 for each hat; found at grocery stores)
Nestle' Chocolate Chips
Yellow Frosting
Yellow Sanding Sugars (optional)
Directions:
Place striped cookies about 1 inch apart on waxed paper and set aside.
In a microwave-safe bowl or measuring cup, melt chocolate chips at 3 second
intervals until soft and runny. Using a wooden skewer, insert into one marshmallow
and dip into melted chocolate to cover top and sides of marshmallow and a little around the
bottom to act as glue when placed on the cookie. Using a toothpick on the top of the marshmallow, wriggle over the cookie until chocolate-covered marshmallow is sitting on top of the cookie.
Use same toothpick to smooth chocolate over area if a hole shows when toothpick is removed.
Place cookies in the refrigerator until the chocolate is hardened, usually about one hour.
Using yellow frosting, pipe buckles onto the hats and if desired, immediately sprinkle with
yellow sanding sugars and shake off excess to create a sparkly effect.

roll out. Cut with pilgrim hat cookie cutter or create your own template (free directions

Nestle' White Chocolate Chips
Yellow Sanding Sugars
Directions:
Bake cookies according to recipe or manufacturers directions and cool completely.
Place white chocolate chips in a small Ziplock type plastic baggie and microwave at
3 second intervals until chocolate is soft. Remove from microwave and knead the
melted chocolate with your hands until smooth. Cut a tiny hole in the corner of the
plastic baggie and pipe the white chocolate to create the hat buckle. Immediately sprinkle
with yellow sanding sugars and shake off the excess. Pipe the white chocolate onto the
cookie to form the hat band. Set aside cookies for at least an hour before serving.
Party Idea:
Personalize each cookie and put on the dinner plates on your
Thanksgiving dinner table to serve as a special treat and name cards.
