Everyone will be laughing when this game is played.
The 'get-up' is simply black and white construction paper bowties and shirts... for older kids, this can be a party activity.
See end of this page for penguin 'masks' to add a little more penguin to the fun.
Have the kids blow up a latex balloon (or have them inflated prior to the party for younger children) -- do NOT use helium, just blow your breath to fill the balloons. Provide a Start Line and ask each guest to line up for the race. Each is given a balloon that they must place between their knees and when the "GO" signal is given, the kids race off the Finish Line. The first one to cross the Finish Line with their balloon still between their knees is the winner. If balloons are dropped, the child must return to the Start Line, put balloon between their knees and rush off to the Finish Line. THE FUN IS... everyone will be waddling, cuter than any penguin. Kids and parents enjoy this so much, it will probably be requested to play it again. Great photo opportunities.
This good game for kid for older children. Using ribbon or string, tie one end to an inflated balloon and wrap the other end around the ankle of player. Please take care to tie the ribbon/string loose around the ankle but not too loose to slip off the ankle/foot. Allow a length of the ribbon or string so that the balloon is approximately 1 to 1-1/2 feet from the angle, so that when players try to break the balloons, they are far enough away from the body not ti mistakenly hurt someone.
When the "GO" signal is given, players must stomp/break the other players balloons. The player left with an inflated balloon still tied to his/her ankle is the winner. Get ready to play this game again and again, it is a balloon full of fun that kids really enjoy. Encourage fairness and good sportsmanship, no wrestling... simply the stomp of a foot onto a balloon that is trailing on the end of a ribbon or string is not so easy, lots of dancing and moving around in this game!
