Get ready to tappity tap dance and party with Mumble and all the pengins!
Invitations
You can purchase Happy Feet party invitations or make your own! Or, make your own with card stock paper. Make basic snowflakes or get fancy with penguins. Your text could read: "Bring your dancin' feet to celebrate ______'s birthday!" You will want to be sure to include the address, date, and time etc.
Decorations
You can find a full range of decorations at thePartyWorks.com
If you are feeling creative, use solid color party ware in blue and white. You can draw on the outsides of the cups with crayons -- or use Happy Feet stickers. If you use plain paper for the tablecloth, you can have the kids draw icy scenes on it as they arrive and are waiting for the rest of the guests.
Balloons -- if you're using helium filled balloons, try using a pengin stuffed animal as the balloon weight! Add a Happy Feet Mylar balloon to the mix too!
Food and Snacks
Penguin Igloo, penguin eggs, penguin veggies and penguin tidbits!
Raspberry juice, pizza, popcorn, and snow cones
"Penguin Snacks" including goldfish crackers, sweedish fish, Jello with candy fish.
Shell shaped macaroni -- either with a salad dressing (cold) or mac and cheese (hot).
Cake
There are so many great cake ideas! How about a slab or round cake using a topper or cake art. Or, if you prefer to use cupcakes, how about topping them with some cute penguin sugars, snow sugars, or rings!
Games and Activities
Penguin Egg Race: Use a plastic egg and a special penguin walk, to pass the egg from one player to another. Divide the children evenly into teams. Provide one plastic egg to each team. The players will place the plastic egg at their feet and "scoot" along to a designated spot and then return the egg to the next player.
Make penguin "hats": Using plain white plastic visors, turn them into penguin hats by gluing on eyes and construction paper beaks.
Snowball Race: For this game you will need styrofoam balls, bean bags, or balls of white yarn, spoons and mittens for each team. Divide the kids into teams. Each player takes turns putting on mittens and balancing a "snowball" on a spoon while racing to the other side of the room. Drop the snowball into a bucket, return to the team, pass the mittens and go to the back of the line. First team to complete the race wins!
Follow Mumble: Play this party game just like follow the leader, except the leader will use his or her own special Mumble dance moves to music. Remember to give each party guest a turn to play Mumble.
Pin the Feet on Mumble: Just like pinning the tail on the donkey! Tip:Use tape instead of pins.
Goody Bags
You can purchase Happy Feet goodie bags or Happy Feet keepsake kits. You can also use a plain paper bag with stickers or drawings on them. Fill the bag with things like goldfish crackers, Happy Feet stickers, seashells, mini book, beach ball etc. Also check out the Happy Feet Tambourines.
Don't forget to send out thank you cards to all your guests too.
