Cindrella or Disney Princesses Party Plan
Who doesn’t remember or know this classic film from Disney Studios? Little girls will be that fairy tale "princess" when her birthday is celebrated with a Cinderella theme for her and her friends.
Dress: Ask each guest to dress up like a fairy princess – some tulle over their skirts, ruffles, mommy’s prom dress, etc. OR provide a box at the party that is filled with all kinds of fun things that princesses wear (check Goodwill Stores and garage sales).
Party Activity: Give everyone aluminum foil sheets and posterboard, pencils. Each person puts their foot on the posterboard and traces around their feet, cuts them out and wraps in tinfoil. These are Cinderella footsteps when she flees the castle after dancing with the Prince. (see below under Prince Charming for their use.)
PRINCE CHARMING is not a frog!: Get Dad, Grandpa, an uncle or close friend to dress up and play the part of the "Prince" and to visit the party when everyone sits down just before the candles are lit on the birthday cake. He lights the candles and leads the singing of the birthday song, then with some waltz music, he asks the birthday girl to dance. Dances a little with each girl, them returns to dance with the birthday girl again. A clock sounds as it it were midnight and all the girls run away, dropping their footprints so the prince can follow… which of course he does and finds them in one room waiting for him. Prepare ahead of time a make believe glass slipper (plastic sandals from a discount store and decorate it with glitter, ribbons, etc.) -- The Prince tries the shoe on each girls foot, none of them fit except the birthday girl, who is the last to try on the slipper. Serve the cake, serve sparkling punch, open the presents.
Photos: Have each guest have her picture taken with "THE PRINCE" to be included with the Thank You Note.
