HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA
Cake
Created & Decorated by
Ms. Angie Rombeck-Smith
The cake is made of a 10, 12, and 14 inch round by 3 inch high pans. Each tier is iced in butter cream then prepared for stack construction. After stacking, I painted the red and blue stripes with petal dust. This is pretty much free-handed. I applied a shell border on each cake tier. The drapes are made of fondant which is rolled out to 1/8 inch thick pieces and cut to width and length I wanted. The drapes are applied to the cake and then painted with red and blue petal dust. The stars are made from gumpaste and a little star cutter and applied. You can also use the pre-made edible hard sugar shaped red, white and blue stars founds at http://thepartyworks.com/product_info.php/cPath/3_7/products_id/2066 . Last, after dowel rodding the top tier, I set the eagle on top. I purchased the eagle from a convienence store.
